The Layers series marks a pivotal transition in my artistic practice — the point where weaving begins to merge with painting. After focusing exclusively on exploring natural fibers through the loom, these works became my first exploration into mixed media and expanded materiality.Handwoven textures of stinging nettle, hemp, and wild silk are embedded within painted surfaces, creating a multidimensional dialogue between organic fiber and structured acrylic color fields. Through layering, concealment, and exposure, each composition becomes a study of material memory and transformation. The series reflects an intersection between textile heritage and contemporary abstraction, where tactile surfaces, geometry, and color coexist within a shared spatial language.LAYERS
