'La sublime ossessione'

Spazio SV is pleased to present “La sublime ossessione”, an exhibition

conceived as a philosophical and aesthetic journey into the mind of an

obsessive collector.

A figure suspended on the edge of rationality and logic, driven by an

irrepressible desire to possess and accumulate art in all its forms.

In this universe poised between reality and vision, obsession becomes a primal

impulse, transforming the collection into a chaotic and disordered “picture

gallery,” where each work overlaps with the next, generating a whirlwind of

meanings and suggestions. Here, accumulation reflects a deep and

unconscious tension: the collector’s attempt to merge with the objects

themselves, making them an extension and mirror of their inner world.

The exhibition is conceived as a sanctuary-room, a secret chamber that

encloses the soul and imaginary universe of the collector. Inside, small works

and art objects are arranged in an apparently random manner, saturating the

gaze and giving life to an open and fragmented narrative. Visitors are invited to

immerse themselves in this suspended atmosphere, letting themselves be

guided by chaos and detail to uncover new connections and meanings.

“La sublime ossessione” explores and puts into tension the concepts of

possession and desire, reflecting on the very nature of art and its

transformative power.

Accumulation becomes a creative and ritual gesture, a means to transcend the

finiteness of existence and transform the exhibition space into a microcosm

suspended between reality and abstraction.

An exhibition that invites reflection on the meaning of possession and on art’s

ability to speak to the soul, welcoming the viewer into a dimension suspended

between emotion and reason, chaos and order, reality and transcendence.
